Product Details:
Long fiber Sphagnum Moss primarily used to provide moisture gradients in isopod, invertebrate, and reptile enclosures. This product is also ideal for plants and bioactive vivariums. This is an organic product free of pesticides and other chemicals.
Sterilization:
All moss is kept frozen in one of our freezers before purchase. This is to prevent pests and unwanted hitchhikers from contaminating the moss, allowing you to safely add it to your terrarium without fear of unwanted guests.
Instructions:
Apply generously to one side of the isopod enclosure, for species that prefer a more arid and dry habitat, apply to one corner or just ¼ of the enclosure total. For more flexible species, ⅓ of the enclosure, and for tropical species that require more moisture, up to ½. When watering your isopods, trickle water down the side of the enclosure where the moss area is, the moss will hold the moisture long enough to make maintenance less frequent for you. Always have a dry side available, the amount of dry space varies by species. Watering the moss creates a moisture gradient for isopods to self regulate their needs. Check moss regularly to make sure it’s moist, but not soaking wet. When the moss dries out, it’s time to rewater the moss.

Shipping Policy
Auction winnings ship on the following Monday. Payment for an auction win must be completed by Sunday at 5pm EST to qualify to have it shipped that Monday. Tuesday is occasionally used as an alternative for customer requests, holidays, etc.

We offer FedEx 2‑Day and FedEx Overnight shipping.
FedEx 2‑Day (Hold for Pickup Only):
- LAG applies only when the shipment is held at an official FedEx Hub for pickup.
- Orders must be picked up the same day they arrive.
- Any issues must be reported with photo/video evidence on the day of arrival.
FedEx 2‑Day Home Delivery:
- No LAG is offered for 2‑Day shipments delivered to a home address.
FedEx Overnight – Hold for Pickup:
- LAG applies when temperatures are 40–90°F and issues are reported the same day the package arrives.
- Must be picked up the same day.
FedEx Overnight – Home Delivery:
- LAG applies only when issues are reported within 2 hours of delivery and temperatures are 40–90°F.
- Someone must be available to receive the package promptly.
Hold for Pickup Requirements:
- Provide your preferred official FedEx Hub in checkout notes or email us at shieldwallexotics@gmail.com.
- Walgreens, Dollar General, and similar partner locations do not qualify.
LAG is void if an incorrect or incomplete shipping address is provided.
Weather & Temperature Conditions
- LAG is valid only when destination temperatures are between 40°F and 90°F.
- Shipments may be delayed if temperatures fall outside this range.
- Heat or cold packs are included at no extra cost when needed.
LAG Coverage Details
- Clear photo/video evidence of DOA animals is required within the appropriate reporting window:
- Same day for Hold for Pickup
- Within 2 hours for FedEx Overnight home delivery
- LAG covers only the number of animals purchased.
- Example: If you buy 10 and receive 15, but 2 arrive DOA, LAG does not apply because the full purchased quantity was still received.
Right to Delay Shipping
- We may delay shipments during extreme or unsafe weather to protect the animals’ health.
Refund Policy
Replacement or refund is offered in the event of DOA's that fall within the Live Arrival Guarantee Policy.
