📏 A Note on Weight and Volume
Our compost is sold by volume. Every bag is filled to its full usable capacity at packing. Our gallon figures are measured, not calculated from dimensions: we filled each bag to the zip line with water, measured what it actually holds, and rounded down — the Large bag measured 2.25 gallons by that test, and the Extra Large measured 3 gallons. The Medium is listed at an estimated 1 gallon.
Compost settles and compacts during shipping, so a bag measured flat or poured straight from the package will read smaller than its fill volume. Fluff the compost before measuring or using it and it returns to full volume. Weights are listed as typical ranges, since moisture content and how fully the leaves have broken down change the density from batch to batch.
